A long, low bench upholstered the whole way to the floor — no exposed wood anywhere, just two broad panel legs at either end that splay slightly outward and carry everything. The top is tight rather than cushioned, with a bolster at each end holding the line. Because every surface takes fabric, the piece becomes whatever you upholster it in: quiet in a solid, a statement in a print. It works at the foot of a bed, in an entry or beneath a window, and is just as at home anywhere a room could use a long, low line.
